- 3–4 lbs high-quality brisket
- 1 firm head of cabbage
- 4 fresh carrots
- 6 Yukon Gold potatoes
- 2 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 tsp coriander seeds
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 large onion
- 4 cloves garlic
Instructions
- Rinse the brisket under cold water to remove excess salt, pat dry, and season generously with black pepper.
- In a large pot, sauté diced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in chopped carrots and potatoes along with mustard seeds, coriander seeds, bay leaves, and mix well.
- Pour in beef broth until ingredients are submerged; bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
- Gently add the seasoned brisket; cover and simmer for 2 hours.
- Add quartered cabbage on top; cover again and simmer for an additional hour or until brisket is tender.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
