  • 1 firm head of cabbage
  • 4 fresh carrots
  • 6 Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Rinse the brisket under cold water to remove excess salt, pat dry, and season generously with black pepper.
  2. In a large pot, sauté diced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in chopped carrots and potatoes along with mustard seeds, coriander seeds, bay leaves, and mix well.
  4. Pour in beef broth until ingredients are submerged; bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  5. Gently add the seasoned brisket; cover and simmer for 2 hours.
  6. Add quartered cabbage on top; cover again and simmer for an additional hour or until brisket is tender.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
