Instructions

- Add garlic & ham hock: Stir in minced garlic and the ham hock; cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Combine beans & broth: Add soaked navy beans and chicken broth, ensuring all ingredients are submerged. Scrape any browned bits from the pot.
- Season & simmer: Add bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 1 hour until beans are tender.
- Serve: Remove bay leaves. Serve hot with fresh herbs as garnish and crusty bread on the side.
