Description

Banana cake is a delightful dessert that transforms simple ingredients into a moist and flavorful treat. Bursting with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas, this cake is perfect for any occasion, from birthdays to casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Β½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a round 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
  6. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cooling in the pan for ten minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Keywords: For added richness, consider using brown sugar instead of granulated sugar. Feel free to mix in chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor and texture. If you have overripe bananas that are too soft to mash easily, place them in a brown paper bag overnight to speed up ripening.
