  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Red & blue food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time while mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let brownies cool before preparing frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar; add milk for desired consistency and mix in food coloring.
  8. Frost cooled brownies with white frosting first, followed by red and blue designs.
