  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and coffee liqueur if desired.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
