  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thin against the grain
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
  • Water (as needed for steaming)

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak into thin strips against the grain. Chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Add beef strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Stir-fry marinated beef in batches until browned (3-4 minutes).
  4. Add broccoli and a splash of water; cover to steam for about 2-3 minutes until bright green.
  5. Pour remaining marinade over the mixture; stir continuously until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes).
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
