- 4 large russet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and sliced into 1/8-inch rounds
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, melted butter, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices evenly across the bottom. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
- Repeat with another layer of potato slices followed by the remaining cream mixture.
- Top with shredded cheddar and Gruyère cheeses.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
