Description

  • 4 large russet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and sliced into 1/8-inch rounds
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, melted butter, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices evenly across the bottom. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  4. Repeat with another layer of potato slices followed by the remaining cream mixture.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar and Gruyère cheeses.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 40 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
