  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 3 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup toasted breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground turkey, cooking until browned.
  4. Mix in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; stir well to combine.
  5. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and mix with turkey sauce.
  6. Layer half of the mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then add the remaining mixture on top.
  7. Top with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese before baking for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
