Healthy Sesame Chicken is a delightful dish that combines tender, juicy chicken with a glossy, sweet-savory sesame sauce. Topped with crunchy toasted sesame seeds and fresh green onions, this recipe transforms weeknight dinners into gourmet experiences. Quick to prepare and full of flavor, it’s perfect for both family dinners and entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to create the sauce.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Sauté chicken pieces until golden brown (6-8 minutes).
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir to coat the chicken evenly; cook until the sauce thickens (2-3 minutes).
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving over rice or quinoa.
