Description

Ingredients

  • 8 slices fresh rye bread
  • 1 lb corned beef, sliced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
  2. Layer the bottom of the baking dish with 4 slices of rye bread.
  3. Add half of the corned beef on top of the bread, followed by half of the sauerkraut and half of the Swiss cheese.
  4. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients: corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese.
  5. Drizzle Thousand Island dressing over the top layer and finish with the remaining 4 slices of rye bread.
  6. Brush melted butter over the top layer of bread.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or store leftovers in an airtight container.
