  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 chocolate kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Mix in peanut butter until combined. Add egg and vanilla extract; stir well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared sheets about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
