Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet Potatoes, thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch)
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh Chives (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Gradually stir in heavy cream.
  3. Add salt and pepper, then mix in half of the cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half the potato slices, pour half the cheese sauce over them, and repeat with remaining ingredients. Top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; remove foil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
