- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 cups tomato sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add diced chicken to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce and half of the basil; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer the chicken mixture, lasagna noodles, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow cooling slightly before slicing; garnish with remaining basil.
