  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Decorative candy eyes and red candies for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets with space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until set but slightly soft in the center.
  8. Cool on wire racks and decorate with candy eyes and red candies.
