Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
  • Optional seasonings: cheese powder, caramel drizzle, or spice blends

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large pot over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. Once the oil shimmers, drop in 3-4 test kernels and cover with a lid.
  3. When those kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and cover quickly.
  4. Gently shake the pot every few seconds as popping begins to prevent burning.
  5. When popping slows to about 2-3 seconds between pops, remove from heat.
  6. Pour popcorn into a large bowl, drizzle with melted butter if desired, sprinkle with salt or seasonings, and toss gently.
