  • 1214 lb whole turkey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 3 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 6 whole garlic cloves
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and ensure the turkey is fully thawed.
  2. Pat the turkey dry and season generously with salt and pepper inside and out.
  3. Stuff the cavity with chopped onions, garlic cloves, and fresh herbs.
  4. Melt butter in a saucepan and brush it over the turkey.
  5. Place diced carrots, celery, and onions around the turkey in the roasting pan.
  6. Roast for approximately 13 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Baste every 30 minutes for juicy results.
