- 2 cups fresh strawberries, mashed
- 10 fresh basil leaves
- 4 tea bags (black tea preferred)
- ½ cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Remove from heat and steep tea bags for 5 minutes.
- While the tea cools, mash strawberries in a bowl until juices are released.
- Stir honey or sugar into warm tea until dissolved. Add basil leaves and let steep for another 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a pitcher, discarding the tea bags and basil leaves. Mix in the mashed strawberries and their juices.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled. Serve over ice with extra strawberry slices and basil leaves as garnish.
