  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small pan, sauté the diced onion over medium heat until translucent; add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a parchment-lined baking sheet or loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Optional: Spread additional ketchup over the top for a glaze.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest before slicing.
